Yuen Lee Casting Sdn Bhd

Yuen Lee Casting Sdn Bhd was established since 1979 as a manufacturer of ferrous and non-ferrous sand cast products with over 40 years of experience and knowledge. The company was sited at a land with over 140,000 sq.ft production area and a monthly output capacity of more than 200 tons to meet a growing demand of high quality casting products in the region and overseas market (Local 70%, Overseas 30%).

Yuen Lee Casting Sdn Bhd was further distinguished by obtaining the prestigious BS EN ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System) on 23rd January 2004.

Our Services

Casting

Metals are cast into shapes by melting them into a liquid, pouring the metal into a mold, and removing the mold material after the metal has solidified as it cools. We are able to cast aluminum and cast iron. However, other metals, such as bronze, brass, steel, magnesium, and zinc can also be produced in our foundries. In this process, parts of desired shapes and sizes can be formed.

Heat Treatment

Heat treatment involves the use of heating or chilling, normally to extreme temperatures, to achieve the desired result such as hardening or softening of a casting. Heat treatment techniques include annealing, case hardening, precipitation strengthening, tempering, carburizing, normalizing and quenching.

Composition Checking

This is a process or procedure used to check composition of a metallic substance. There are destructive processes and nondestructive processes. Checks can also include, determining the properties of newly forged materials. With many chemical-property databases readily available, identification of unmarked pure, common metals can be a quick and easy process. This type of testing is nondestructive.

Computer Simulation

Computer simulations of casting are cost effective, aid in analysis, and help to advance solidification theory and casting techniques. Only since the 1980s, however, has there been extensive research directed at the development of modeling and simulation tools for foundry casting processes. This is in part because of the breadth of complex physical phenomena pre-sent in casting processes.

Product Cross Section

This is a very powerful way of examining how a material, laminate or component is assembled, manufactured, for determining how different layers interact or in the hunt for the mechanisms causing a failure. In all of these cases it is vital that any cross-section preparation does not disturb, smear or alter the sample otherwise the wrong conclusions can be reached. The choice of the technique to generate the section, therefore, is vital as is the skill and experience of the individual preparing the sample.
